The European Commission has approved SMOCS project, relative to Sustainable Management of Contaminated Sediments in the Baltic Sea, to be a EU flagship project. This is a great honor, while not many initiatives concerning our region become flagship projects of EU. SMOCS project now has a strong position, contributing to development of EU Strategy for Baltic Sea Region (especially on area 3: Reduce the use and impact of hazardous substaneces).
